EPT (English Proficiency Test)
The English Proficiency Test (EPT) in Iran, developed and administered by the Center for Testing, Admission, and Graduation affiliated with Islamic Azad University, assesses English language proficiency for academic and professional purposes. The EPT comprises three sections: Reading (30 items), Vocabulary (35 items), Grammar and Structure (35 items). It is generally sat by Ph.D. candidates as an obligatory part of their admission and graduation in the Ph.D. program. The passing score is 50 out of 100. It plays a vital role in academic admissions, and in some cases job applications, and other contexts where English language skills are crucial, facilitating opportunities for individuals in their educational and professional pursuits in Iran.
